Standard double glazing
The standard double glazing is the cheapest option
in double glazing. It reduces the heat loss compared to single glazing by
55%.
Double Glazing + Low E +
Argon
The use of low emissivity (Low E) glass, together
with Argon gas filling between the two panes cuts the loss to a much greater
effect. The thermal performance is is improved by 44% compared to standard
double glazing.
Low-E glass further improves thermal efficiency
of the window and prevents the damage that ultra-violet rays can cause to
interior furnishings. If you are in a climate that has long, hot summers,
low-E windows can make a big difference in your air-conditioning bill, too
Double Glazing + Low E + Argon + Noise
level reduction
With this glass option you get the best available
double glazing and a sound reduction of up to 57%. This glass has also a high
security rating.
Double glazing + Low E + Argon + Safety
glass
Where there´s danger someone may run
through, toughened glass is used in this double glazing.
Triple
Glazing Triple
glazing has 3 panes of glass (any glass combination can be used) with
sealed spaces of ideally 12mm in between. Some triple glazed windows can have a
u-value as low as 0.9. When in doubt between choosing triple or double glazing
for tilt and turn windows, and you already have a very good insulated house,
choose Tilt & Turn triple glazing windows. You get more heat
efficiency and therefore better heat retention compared to the double glazed
versions. Triple glazing reduces noise and is often used near motorways or
airports. |
